Exceptional Children's Services

Program Description
In Cumberland County Schools, our goal is to identify and support students who have a disability that impacts their ability to participate in and make progress in the general curriculum. We provide Exceptional Children’s (EC) services to support these students with specially designed instruction when the regular classroom instruction alone is not enough. From preschool through age 21 (where appropriate), each student’s academic support is guided by an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), which is designed to address the barriers that may prevent them from fully accessing the general education curriculum.
